THE CUB SCOUT PACK

The Pack is divided into Dens of Scouts of the same age, gender and grade level. Through the Den, Scouts complete adventures toward their advancement while having fun!

  • Kindergartners are Lions

  • 1st graders are Tigers

  • 2nd graders are Wolves

  • 3rd graders are Bears

  • 4th graders are Webelos

  • 5th graders are Arrow of Light

Dens meet under the direction of a trained adult Den Leader and with the help of an Assistant Den Leader and other parent volunteers. Den meetings are planned around a themed adventure and may include crafts, hikes, games and other fun activities.

The pack is made up of the dens and is led by a trained and experienced adult leader called the Cubmaster, with help from one or more Assistant Cubmasters.

Once a month, a Pack meeting is held. The Cub Scouts and their families come together with games, ceremonies and presentations of badges and awards that the Scouts earned that month.

The Pack plans a full-year program. The program includes hiking, camping, fields trips, service projects, and special events like the Pinewood Derby and Blue & Gold Banquet.

The Pack operates under the supervision of a committee responsible for ensuring the Scouts receive a quality, year-round program that follows the guidelines and policies of the Boy Scouts of America.  The committee is made up of parents/volunteers.

Led by a Committee Chair, the Pack committee selects leadership, finds meeting places, keeps records and finances, orders badges, maintains Pack equipment, helps train and recognize leaders and plans activities.

The Committee meets once a month and includes a secretary, treasurer, advancement chair, public relations chair, outdoor activity coordinator and new member coordinator, as well as den and pack leaders and a representative from our chartered organization, the EA Young Academy.
